MINUTES OF WOODHATCH WI

AT WOODHATCH COMMUNITY CENTRE

MONDAY 8TH APRIL 2024 AT 7.30pm


The President opened the meeting and welcomed 30 members and 1 visitor.

NEW MEMBERS Marion and Anne

APOLOGIES Caryl, Katie, Nancy, Hazel and

Eileen.


Speaker. Was our own member Michelle who gave a fascinating, informative and

interesting talk on The Dark Fleet.


VOT was given by Angela Hammond and Michelle was given a bouquet.

REFRESHMENTS. These were kindly provided and served by Joy and Liz.

CORRESPONDENCE

Surrey News. Members were asked if they received their on line copies from SFWI

Annual Council Meeting at Dorking Halls. Our Secretary had circulated her report by

email

Indoor Bowls at Chessington. Wednesday 15th May £29. It was felt there were more local

options.

London Walks. Various date £17

New Speaker Auditions Godstone Village Hall Friday 14TH June - Board to sign up

NFWI

AGM at the Albert Hall Wednesday 5th June 10.30. Spaces still available to attend via

Zoom


FINANCE. ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION £48 DUE TODAY

UPDATE

Oxted and Edenbridge Show. We came Second with a mixed team

Air Ambulance Tour at Redhill those attending found it interesting and enjoyable.

Meal at the Seven Stars. Good food and enjoyable

The Winslow Boy. An excellent production

The President confirmed the regular Groups as shown in the Newsletter

OUTINGS

Warnham Nature Reserve Saturday 18th May. Entrance to the Reserve £4

MONTHLY SALES TABLE

Please bring items and take them home if not sold! This is proving a useful source of

additional income.

Members were reminded to check Boards to put names down for activities

PLANT SALE AT MAY MEETING Members reminded to start preparing plants for sale.


AOB

Members were reminded that when Booking with Riviera Travel they need to mention our

WI at booking to receive 10% for our funds - a very useful amount

Also requested that Members give a thought to giving a short talk at a future meeting about

their Hobby or Interest, or maybe a family member would speak.

A suggestion that Members might like to bring a Guest to a meeting with a special Speaker

giving a voluntary donation of £3.

We have SFWI and NFWI Raffle Tickets available but in view of funding it was felt that our

own Raffle should be our priority.


BIRTHDAYS. Moira, Eve, Heather, Jane and Angela were wished a Happy Birthday.
